With most of the world on lockdown and billions of people confined to their homes, many recreational facilities have gone online to keep people entertained. The latest of these being the Sydney Opera House.

The famous Sydney Opera House in Australia has joined in the movement and released a series of world-class performances including opera, contemporary music, talks and behind-the-scenes footage available on their website for free.

The House says on its website:

‘While the doors to the Opera House might be closed for now, we’re bringing our House to yours with our new digital program of weekly live recordings, never-before-seen footage, as well as podcasts, articles, videos and more,’

New content will be released every week from Wednesday to Sunday at 6pm.

There are also various forms of written material available as well as virtual tours of the House.

Sydney Opera House CEO Louise Herron AM said in a statement:

‘I hope this new digital program from the Opera House, a national symbol of creativity, will connect, inspire and comfort people around the world during this challenging time,’
